Happy Birthday Jesus
What do we need to do?
The Christmas story is more profound than many people think. Long before the Earth was created, and before Adam and eve ate the forbidden fruit. It was decided in Heaven that Jesus would come to Earth to die in the place of sinful man, and rise again on the third day. The amazing truth is that God made a way for us to have our slates wiped clean way before we even existed.

And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the Book of Life of the Lamb, slain from the foundation of the world. Rev 13:8

C.S. Lewis said, "The Son of God became a man, so that men might become the sons of God."

You see God knows everything. Like a parent with their children when it is time to eat. The parent knows the child will make a mess, and because of that knowledge the parent makes provision for the mess by placing a bib around the child's neck and maybe a plastic tarp on the floor around where the child is going to eat. When Adam and Eve sinned it did not catch God by surprise. He had already made a provision for their sin.

For ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, such as silver and gold, from your vain way of living which ye received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and with spot, who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you. 1 Peter 1:18-20

Before the tower of Babel, Noah and the Art, Jacob and Esau, Samuel, David and Goliath, Elijah or the rest of the prophets, before these people and events, God had already made provision for your sins. Jesus coming to Earth was a planned event. His coming to earth is celebrated as a great arrival, but it was also a great departure. Did you know that when Jesus left heaven he said Good-bye to His father and it is recorded in Scripture?

For this reason, coming into the world, He says, "Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, but You prepared a body for Me. You did not delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices concerning sins. Then I said, Lo, I come, in the heading of the Book, it was written concerning Me, to do Your will, O God." Hebrews 10:5-7 GLT

This should give you great comfort, I know it does me. God never intended for us to measure up He always knew that we could not. Therefore He made a provision beforehand for our messes (sin). Now all we need to do is turn from our sins (Repent). Make Jesus our Lord (master, decision maker). By doing so we are forgiven of our sins and are spiritually born again as children of God.
